Delete Your Yetty Account
Last updated: October 1, 2026You can delete your account and your data whenever you want, without giving any explanation and without anyone trying to talk you out of it. There are two ways.
1. From the app (immediate)
This is the fastest way: deletion happens instantly, with no need to wait for anyone to process it.
- Open Yetty and log in to your account.
- Go to Profile → Settings → Delete account.
- Type your password to confirm. We ask for it because deletion can't be undone and we want to make sure it's really you.
Signed in with Google and don't have a password? Then, instead of the password field, Yetty asks you to go through the Google screen again. It's the same check under a different name, and it exists for the same reason: so that no one who picks up your phone for a minute can delete your account.
2. By writing to us (if you no longer have the app)
If you've uninstalled the app or can't log in to your account, write to us at support@yettyapp.com with the subject "Delete my account", from the same email address you registered with.
We need it to be from that address because it's the only way we have to verify the account is yours: if we processed requests regardless of where they came from, anyone could delete someone else's account just by writing their username.
If you no longer have access to that email, write to us anyway and we'll find another way to verify it.
Timeframe: we respond and delete within a maximum of 30 days, the period set by art. 12.3 GDPR. In practice it's usually much sooner.
What gets deleted
Everything tied to your account:
- Your account and profile data: username, email, password, date of birth, nationality, avatar, and traveler profile.
- Your Instagram username, if you had saved one.
- Your points of interest and the photos you uploaded, including the files on the server.
- Your ratings, travel stories, and alerts, and also those other people left on your points: if the point disappears, what was written about it can't be left dangling.
- Your passport of countries and cities.
- Your friendships, follows, and requests.
- Your paw prints, your streak, and your mini-game progress, with no compensation.
- Your open sessions on any device.
- The devices registered to receive notifications.
Deletion happens in a single operation: either everything is deleted, or nothing is touched. Your account never ends up half-deleted.
What's kept, and why
We'd rather tell you than have you discover it:
- The contact-exchange record (the dates it was requested, accepted, and, if applicable, withdrawn). It doesn't include your Instagram username, which is deleted. It's kept because it's proof that consent existed, and art. 7.1 GDPR requires us to be able to demonstrate that.
- Reports, both ones you made and ones made against you, even if closed. An account with several reports from different people is information that would disappear if each one were deleted once resolved, and that would leave whoever reported it unprotected.
- Content that was approved for the public map may be kept unlinked from your account, without your name or any of your data. This is what prevents the map used by the rest of the community from being emptied out when someone leaves.
All of this is also explained in section 7 of the Privacy Policy.
Before deleting, in case it helps
There are things you might not need to delete your whole account to achieve:
- If what you want is to stop sharing your contact with someone, you can withdraw it with one tap from their profile, or delete your Instagram username from your own.
- If what you want is for people not to see you, in Settings → Privacy you can decide who sees each part of your profile, or block specific people.
- If what you want is to stop receiving notifications, you can turn them off from your phone's settings without touching your account.
And if you still want to leave, go ahead: it's your decision and you don't need to justify it.
